24hrs in Rio and already I’ve discovered my favourite drinking spot – a true hidden gem.
On Saturday, I ventured up the hillside to Santa Teresa, Rio’s bohemian quarter. Historically, the area has been home to the city’s artists and musicians. It still remains one of the most relaxed, creative parts of the city.
and you really can find something special here…including ‘By Coehelo‘ a tiny makeshift bar with a fantastic view over Lapa.

Two picnic tables are crammed onto this miniature rooftop – come bar

A genius at work!

Treat yourself to a traditional Caipirinha or try something new from by Coelho’s long menu. Passionfruit, mint & strawberries make a great addition! Cocktails are only 7 Reais too (£2.50)!

Slovenia, one of the most beautiful countries in Europe.

We returned last week from our Croatian/Slovenian road trip. Tasting the wine, burek, pizza and the unmissable juha (soup) – Slovenia is highly recommended. In Slovenia, soup is served with practically every meal and unlike English restaurants you can expect to find a whole page in the menu of just soup. March is also the mushroom season so we made it our task to try a mushroom soup at every meal. This was our favourite – served overlooking lake Bled on a crisp afternoon – an absolute treat!

Serving soup in an edible bread bowl makes it a lot more exciting and tastes surprisingly good. Here’s a lovely recipe we found using bread bowls at brunchtime: Natalie’s recipe

Back from our trip to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil last month we have finally found the time to put up a few pictures.
Here are our two favourite market stalls at from the bizarre in Centro Rio.

A wealth of colourful fruit and vegetable that would make anyone, cook or not want to head to the kitchen.

Chillies in Brazil are not only spicy but full of flavour.

We’ve found our favourite festive dessert already and its only November!

Try making our simple Cranberry & pomegranate pud with plenty of mascarpone.
